 2012 De Ruiter segments its products to better deliver crop-specific expertise by focusing only on heated, protected-culture vegetable and rootstock products. The new De Ruiter brand promises growers outstanding growing potential and the satisfaction of delivering the very best products to market with pride.
 2009 De Ruiter Seeds segments its products to better deliver crop-specific expertise by focusing only on tomatoes, pepper, cucumber, egpplants and rootstocks as protected-culture vegetable products.
 2008 De Ruiter Seeds becomes part of Monsanto.
 1990 De Ruiter makes great achievements by advancing the development of rootstock.
 1980 De Ruiter’s product range expanded with peppers and eggplants.
 1970 De Ruiter introduces its first innovation: Sporu, a cucumber variety immune to the dreaded Spot virus. Soon afterward, the company introduces Sonato — a tomato variety resistant to the Tobacco Mosaic Virus — which turns out to be a major breakthrough in international horticulture.
 1945 De Ruiter Seeds is founded in Bleiswijk in the Netherlands on July 1. Wouter de Ruiter establishes a small company that produces seed potatoes and agricultural and horticultural seeds. He quickly expands his activities by selecting, breeding and producing seeds himself, with success.
